Known by her clients as “The Insight Doctor,” Colette is an internist and gastroenterologist who received her BA from Harvard, her MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School. She completed a residency in internal medicine from the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology from the University of California, San Francisco. Colette has completed a graduate certificate program in health and wellness coaching from Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH), formerly Tai Sophia Institute.
The co-creator of the popular workshops, “Leading with Authenticity” and “Healthy Aging,” Colette has taught “Foundations of Health Coaching” to pharmacy students at Notre Dame University of Maryland and is a faculty member at MUIH, where she served as a Mentor Coach and a participant in the “Holistic Approaches to Stress: The Art and Science of Relaxation” seminar series. In 2013, she was selected as a scholar in the NIH Translational Health Disparities Program.
She is the Managing Editor of The Wharton Healthcare Quarterly and has written on various health topics for Her Mind magazine as well as Woman’s Day.
She is also the author of Gastroenterology Quick Glance, a McGraw-Hill GI text, Navigating Your Healthcare Journey, a co-authored book providing guidance, insights, and practical tips to help patients make their way through the challenging and complicated healthcare system, and Be Less Stressed, a year’s worth of motivation, resources, and activities for better health, greater well-being, and more happiness.
Lastly, Dr. Edwards is currently the National Medical Director for Associate Health and Well-Being for a Fortune 100 company, which has been a National Business Group on Health Platinum “Best Employers for Healthy Lifestyles” award winner in 2014, 2015, and 2016. She provides clinical leadership to optimize the health and well-being of more than 52,000 associates. Colette plays a key role in the development and delivery of a strategy which includes a holistic view of benefits, the work environment, programs, and services. Additionally, she serves as an internal consultant, providing input, feedback, identification of opportunities and best practices, and an integrated view of data to deliver actionable insights.
