Perimenopause/Menopause

I am perimenopausal/in menopause and am experiencing symptoms such as hot flashes/night sweats, irritability, fatigue, body/joint aches, problems sleeping, weight gain, problems with focus and concentration, mood swings, and I feel o-o-o-o-l-d.

My healthcare practitioner has informed me these issues are related to this stage of my life. I:

  1. believe there may be integrative approaches to help manage these symptoms instead of, or in addition to, medication to make me more comfortable and allow me to flow with this natural period in my life.
  2. would like to seize this as an opportunity to reflect and explore how I would like to spend my time in the future, implement changes I have been putting off, or pursue dreams I have been deferring.
  3. know it would be good for my physical and mental well-being if my perspective and emotions surrounding “the change” could reframe my outlook.

If you answered yes to most of these statements, then coaching may be beneficial.

  4. my condition would improve if I could figure out a way to develop a habit of being more physically active, eating more nutritious meals and snacks, and relaxing more

  6. I believe there are life lessons to be learned from having my condition(s) I would like to uncover; this may be “a sign” or the jolt I needed to make changes which will lead to a happier and more fulfilling life.

Sleep

sleep

I have been checked by a doctor and nothing was found. But I am still having a problem with sleep, and it has lasted at least a month without getting any better.

  1. True or False? The quality of my sleep generally is fair to poor:
    ___ True
    ___ False
  2. The pattern of my sleep in general is:
    ___ I have a problem falling asleep.
___ I have no problem going to sleep, but wake up during the night.
___ I have a lot on my mind.
  3. When I wake up the next day, I generally feel (check ALL that apply):
    _____ no different
    _____ tired
    _____ exhausted
_____ as if I needed to stay in bed
_____ as if I did not want to get out of bed
    _____ dread the day
    _____ stressed
    _____ agitated/annoyed/irritated/frustrated
_____ like my mind continued to race during the night

If no organic reason has been found for your sleep difficulties, coaching may help you identify factors contributing to your issues and develop a strategy to help you overcome the sleep pattern which has developed.
